Our community
We are a nascent pilgrim community, bringing together individuals who feel called to walk for Peace.
Our journey began in Belgium, where around thirty people initially responded to the call of Nikita Stampa, the project's initiator.
Together, we have established a charter of "10 guiding principles". It sets out the aims, values and ethos that we wish to embody in this adventure, which is both personal and communal.
This pilgrim community is open to anyone ready to commit to Peace in the spirit of this charter.
To date, over a hundred people have expressed their interest in participating in this adventure in one way or another.
Nikita Stampa
Who is the person behind this pilgrimage for Peace?
Nikita spent over 20 years in managerial roles within the European Institutions. Later, at the European School of Administration, he worked until 2024 to develop inspired, meaningful leadership. Faithful to the spirit of the Ancient Greeks, he uses walking as an essential pedagogical tool.
In 2011, he began a long-term pilgrimage that, year after year, took him from his home near Brussels to the monastic peninsula of Mount Athos in Greece. In 2023, he published an autobiographical account of this experience titled “Tout ce qui vient à vous” (Everything That Comes to You), published by Walden & Whitman.
For nearly 25 years, Nikita has been internally guided by the teachings of Swamiji Prajnanpad, as transmitted by Arnaud Desjardins and Daniel Morin through the Hauteville spiritual center. He was also deeply influenced by the "initiatory pedagogy" developed and implemented by Pierre-Yves Albrecht.
While profoundly inspired by the spiritual and initiatory dimensions of Christianity, Nikita holds a deep interest in all spiritual traditions, seeking the common thread that unites them beyond their rich differences.
Born in 1965, married, a father of three, and a grandfather of four, Nikita is now retired from his professional career. Today, his spiritual quest and the sharing of his pilgrim experience are at the very heart of his life.
